It’s not a thick recycled rubber pad like most bong/dab mats, but thin, smooth and sticky on both sides. It doesn’t see use as a bong mat (I don’t need it to be sticky, just a cushion), but it **does** work great to keep an Auber PID controller box for a hot coil rig with all its protruding cords and wires stuck in place and not able to slip off the desk.
